The former headquarters of the Royal Bank of Canada was built between 1926 and 1928. The 22-storey building is composed of three main sections: an imposing base, the central shaft of the tower, and pilasters crowning the upper levels.
The interior reflects the refined details of Roman classical architecture inspired by the Italian Renaissance. The main hall—once the bank’s principal space—features 45-foot ceilings and travertine floors forming a hand-cut marble mosaic. The original bank tellers’ counters remain in place today and are now used by Crew Collective & Café, which has transformed the space while preserving its historic architectural features.
