This guided tour presents a case study of Esquisse, a new interactive musical pavement at Technopole Angus. Created by Daily tous les jours, the installation integrates sensors, lights, and speakers into the ground, inviting passersby to play a musical creation together.
Paying tribute to architect Claude Provencher, the installation is a collaboration with composer Frank O’Sullivan and some of Montreal’s finest jazz musicians, realized with the expertise of Provencher Roy, Béton Johnstone, NIP Paysage, and Ceveco. Guided by the studio’s co-founders, the tour demonstrates how an interactive public artwork comes to life through collaboration between designers, artists, fabricators, and technical partners.
This work is the latest addition to a series of interventions designed to animate the Technopôle Angus neighbourhood, also created by Daily tous les jours, including an interpretation center and an interactive community dashboard.
Meeting at 4220 Augustin-Frigon Street, Montreal, H1Y 0C4, on Thursday, May 7 at 4:00 PM.
