Lighting Up Montréal City Hall

April 29

19:00—20:00

Place Vauquelin

As night falls, the City Hall is revealed under a new lighting scheme during an immersive guided tour. This nighttime route offers a chance to explore the building’s architectural lighting project, highlighting its heritage, urban, and symbolic qualities. Light is approached as a tool for staging, architectural interpretation, and dialogue with public space.

The tour allows participants to delve into the conceptual intentions, technical choices, and visual impact of the project after dark. A unique opportunity to see how lighting transforms the perception of an iconic site and renews the experience of Montreal’s architecture after dusk.

This initiative is presented by HLB Lighting in collaboration with BMA. Conor Sampson and Alicia Davila Monterrey (HLB) will lead the tour, accompanied by Nelly Charpentier (BMA). The presentation will be bilingual (English and French)

Meeting point: Place Vauquelin at 7:00 PM on Wednesday April 29.
The tour follows a clockwise route to explore the West and South façades, concluding at the South façade facing Notre-Dame at sunset.
