Catherine Charron ⏤ Conseil des métiers d'art du Québec

An ethnologist specializing in built heritage and traditional know-how, Catherine Charron has been working for over ten years at the intersection of research, heritage interpretation, and the development of craft communities. Trained in ethnology at Université Laval and in cultural management at HEC Montréal, she has a particular interest in the transmission of gestures, the culture of making, and the human stories that shape territories.

As Architecture and Heritage Manager at the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec (CMAQ), she develops and leads structuring projects related to crafts, the conservation of historic buildings, and the promotion of heritage artisans. She notably coordinates the Montréal Craft District project, as well as several initiatives focused on mobilization, training, and the enhancement of traditional know-how.

Driven by a sensitive, field-based approach, she supports communities in recognizing and sustaining both tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
